All Mount Royal University faculty have access to multiple services to keep them healthy in many aspects of wellness. One of the services offered is a monthly Wellness Wednesday.

What are Wellness Wednesdays?

Wellness Wednesdays are a health related event that any Mount Royal University employee has an option to attend.

Each month a Wellness Wednesday will take place focusing on a new area of health.

September’s theme is navigating stress.

Today’s event was Puppy Cuddles with puppies from Cochrane and Area Humane Society (CAHS).

Employees could go cuddle with puppies outside at the Bookstore Courtyard from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in 20 minute sessions.

Bonding with animals is known to decrease stress and boost moods, making the Puppy Cuddles event a great way to relax and reconnect.

Upcoming wellness events

October’s wellness theme is cancer prevention.

Employee’s can register for four events over the month of October.

On October 2nd a mobile prostate cancer screening van called the Man Van will be on campus and is free for any MRU faculty member wanting a screening. No registration is required for this event.

The wellness theme for November is nutrition and events are still yet to be scheduled.
